Anglo-Hindu researchers are jointly developing a new type of cement manufactured based of rice husks, within the framework of the agreement UK-India Education & Research Initiative (UKIERI) led by the University of Dundee in England.

The research aims to reduce carbon footprint in the manufacturing process cement. The general idea of \u200b\u200bthe researchers is to use materials are available in the milieu in which it occurs and cement needed to obtain concrete "green" to eliminate or minimize contamination by carbon dioxide emissions of traditional cement plants. Thus, if countries like England are using the blast furnace slag as a material for manufacturing in India would use rice husk (abundant in the area) for silica and add it to cement.
